Pedestrian Promenade, Leszno

The pedestrian promenade will connect Leszno's city center with the area around the railway station.

The pedestrian promenade will connect Leszno’s city center with the area around the railway station. Currently, the areas adjoining the promenade are undergoing transformation: to the south, along Przemysłowa Street, a new building has gone up and an industrial building (the old Sewing Factory) has been renovated and repurposed, while to the north, mixed residential and commercial development with an inner-city character is planned along the pedestrian route.

In the future, the development will form an urban frontage along the promenade, and the section covered by this study is an important element at its intersection with Krasińskiego Avenue, forming part of a larger scheme to rebuild and revitalize this part of downtown Leszno. For local residents, the space is meant to function as a neighborhood square — day-to-day offering parking for a few cars (its existing use) and occasionally serving as a venue for local events. The chosen lighting — fixtures suspended on cables — is meant to give the space its distinctive character.
