Park on the Narew

The site covered by this study is a stretch of the city visible from the far bank of the Narew — a place just “around the corner,” yet still somewhat forgotten.

The site covered by this study is a stretch of the city visible from the far bank of the Narew — a place just “around the corner,” yet still somewhat forgotten. The location made it possible to create a welcoming public space built around the forest and the water, highlighting the qualities where the city meets the river. By using and shaping the site’s natural features, the proposal — through simple means and the existing infrastructure — transforms the area into an accessible, welcoming space.

The concept is a deliberate, phased intervention. By gradually introducing functions, infrastructure, and small architectural elements into areas of wild nature, the neglected spaces will ultimately become recreational and leisure grounds, creating interesting places to meet and stroll among the riverside greenery. On the scale of the city, developing the waterfront will offer an alternative setting that fosters human connection.
