A small house located in a beautiful spot on the shore of a lake.

A small house located in a beautiful spot on the shore of a lake. Although the plot’s potential and the zoning conditions severely limited what could be built, those constraints ultimately proved to be a great source of inspiration and shaped the building’s unusual, irregular form. Construction had to proceed quickly and smoothly so as not to disturb the peace of the neighboring holiday homes, hence the decision to build using prefabricated technology. The building, and all its attention, is directed toward the lake.

To blur the boundary between inside and outside, a two-story-high aluminum facade was used, erasing the line between the surrounding nature and the interior and providing an unobstructed view — something the clients find extremely satisfying. Despite a form that departs from traditional houses, thanks to its proportions and timber cladding the whole composition sits comfortably within the waterfront landscape, and the house — really only visible from the lake side — subtly reveals its face from behind the line of reeds and trees.
