Gawrówka Settlement, Stronie Śląskie

The clients' dream was to create a place where they could enjoy the charms of the Śnieżnik Massif, a region they feel emotionally connected to.

The clients’ dream was to create a place where they could enjoy the charms of the Śnieżnik Massif, a region they feel emotionally connected to. As soon as they found a sunny, secluded plot in the valley above the Janówka stream at the foot of Czarna Góra, they decided this was exactly where Gawrówka Settlement would rise — a complex of four year-round cottages.

The buildings have a timber structure based on prefabricated frame systems. The choice of facade — wood shingle combined with glass — is partly a consequence of that decision, but also a natural choice for this location. This design was meant to work in harmony with nature — the small scale and form of the timber cabins will let the development blend into the surrounding landscape.
